´óÏó´«Ã½

Beth Nielsen Chapman / Afghanistan

The American singer-songwriter will be exchanging Nashville, Tennessee for Aberdare this week.

Writer of several hit singles in the United States and with a devoted following in this country, she is visiting Wales as part of her current UK tour.

As well as many old favourites, her audience in Aberdare will be sampling something of her latest project - the double album Prism. Party inspired by Archbishop Tutu, it contains songs in nine different languages and celebrates a diversity of religious faiths and traditions.

But singing about God and religion is not usually a recipe for commercial success and in this week's All Things Considered Beth Nielsen Chapman talks about the beliefs which motivated her to undertake the project which took ten years to complete.

Also in the programme Roy Jenkins talks to a Cardiff woman who, despite the risks associated with it, devotes her life to working with the working in Afghanistan.
