Review of the Year

On All Things Considered this week (Sunday 30 December at 8.31am), Roy Jenkins and a panel of guests look back at 2007.

The country acquired a new prime minister, the Liberal Democrats a new leader, and the Welsh assembly, after weeks of tortuous wheeling and dealing, a new coalition. Inexplicably, Wales did not win the Rugby World Cup.

Britain experienced its worst floods for generations, farming communities held their breath as foot and mouth threatened, and a last-minute global agreement on climate change was hailed as a miracle, and condemned as a great disappointment.

But many of the year's news stories were about security - identity theft, fear of terrorism, instability in the Middle East - and, of course, personal security captured poignantly in the plight of little Madeleine McCann.

Joining Roy to discuss these issues are: The Anglican Archbishop of Wales, Dr Barry Morgan, Rabbi Mordechai Wollenberg of the Cardiff United Synagogue and George Craig.
