All Things Considered: Review of the Year
Review of the Year
On All Things Considered this week (Sunday 28 December at 8.30am) Roy Jenkins presents the annual All Things Considered review of the year.
A rugby grand slam, a clutch of Olympic medals and the title 'Last Choir Standing' - for some people in Wales, 2008 has been a great year.
For others, both here and across the world, it's been one to forget.
Turmoil in the money markets has revealed astonishing levels of debt, humbled famous financial institutions, and got many people worried about their jobs, pensions and savings. The credit crunch has been hurting all round.
The death toll has continued from wars, disease and terror attacks, and from crime on Britain's streets.
And the United States elected its first African American president.
To try to make sense of what's been happening, Roy Jenkins is joined from our Cambridge studio by Dr. Elaine Storkey, writer, academic and president of the relief agency Tear Fund. And with him in the Llandaff studio are the Cardiff-based barrister Mona Bayoumi, and the Anglican Archbishop of Wales, the Most Rev'd Barry Morgan.
