Pakistan Floods / Walk Saint David

Last updated: 05 September 2010

The floods in Pakistan, affecting some 20 million people, have been described by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon as being like 'a slow-motion tsunami'.

The devastation of lives across vast swathes of the country is evident, but what effect is the disaster having on people's faith? Roy Jenkins and guests explore the impact of this catastrophe on faith communities in Pakistan and the response of religious believers in Wales.

Also in the programme Roy hears about a Christian mission enterprise which is teaming up with nearly three hundred walkers and over one hundred churches in West Wales over three weeks in September. "Walk Saint David" offers everything from pub quizzes to treasure trails, jazz evenings, art exhibitions and women's pamper evenings, and they'll be trudging across Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire determined to use as many ways as possible to get their message across.

All Things Considered is broadcast on Sunday 5 September at 8.30am and repeated on Thursday 9 September at 5.30 am.
