Newport's Gypsy Dilemma

On a hill overlooking Bettws estate in Newport, lays a plot of land that is causing a stir. Newport City Council have ear marked it as a possible place to build a Gypsy and Traveller site.....

Yew Tree Cottage is one of five possible sites which may be developed in this way, and is the first to enter the planning process.

There has been staunch opposition to the proposal, but Travellers living in the area claim that small official family sites are the best way forward for their community.

Eye On Wales reporter Selma Chalabi talks to people from both sides of the fence, and for the first time, brings them together to discuss their differences.
