One of Britain's favourite bands, the Manic Street Preachers, have supported ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Wales Music Day by recording a world-exclusive track which will be heard only on the station on Friday, March 25.
The Manics went into their studio last week to record a cover version of John Cale's The Endless Plain of Fortune as their contribution to Radio Wales Music Day.
The album from which it is taken, John Cale's Paris 1919, is one of lead singer James Dean Bradfield's favourites. "In our heads, it was our chance to be in The Band, backing our version of Bob Dylan, which is John Cale." says Bradfield.
John Cale himself performed on the latest Manics album Postcards From A Young Man, contributing keyboards and other "noise" on the track Auto-Intoxication.
You can hear the world-exclusive on the Afternoon Show with Roy Noble and Bethan Elfyn on Radio Wales Music Day, Friday 25 March.
