The personal trainer to the stars reveals his top tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Self-confidence

When I was a kid in junior and high school, I wasn't the high school jock. I was three stone lighter and was never picked for any team. It was emotionally very upsetting to me, but this motivated me when I got older to do what I do. It was the energy I was putting out. I was afraid to be picked, I can see that now, so I didn't get picked.

Self-confidence is hugely important and it translates into every aspect of your life. You feel great about getting out there and asking the gorgeous girl on a date, or being asked out on a date, or being picked for the basketball team. It's self-confidence and achieving attainable goals that builds one's confidence. But it starts by looking at yourself in the mirror and saying "I love myself, I like what I am, I like what I'm about." If you don't, what is it that you don't like? What can we fix?

Make smart choices

Bottom line, a burger and fries isn't bad every now and again. It's not great, but it's not terrible. A turkey burger or a veggie burger is better, but fries are not great. You're going to have more energy, more stamina, more focus, look good and have better skin, if you eat healthier and make smarter choices. Everyone wants to look great. You might want to look like Heidi Klum or Brad Pitt? Well, you're not going to be able to eat that burger and fries and have a six pack. It doesn't work.

Make it your lifestyle

Make it something that you want to do every single day. You want to get up, you want to move your body, you want to eat correctly. It's not for five days, it's not for two weeks, you always want to think about what you're doing and why you're doing it and what it's doing to your body.

Believe in yourself!

Whether you are 15 or 55-years-old, it's never too late. You can find that will, that power, if you reach within. Why are you doing this? Why do you want to look better? Why do you want to lose weight? Why do you want to do it? Then it's possible.
