UNDERGROUND - ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Swindon and ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Wiltshire's weekly radio show dedicated to local bands and musicians came to the end of the present series on Sunday December 18th. As it was the last show in the series, and the final one before Christmas, it was aÌý bumper edition of the programme, and this week there was a double dose of local talent guesting on the show. Presenter Daniel Garrett invited two top Wiltshire acts into the studio - Swindon singer/songwriter Charlie Bath who has emerged onto the Swindon scene to great acclaim in 2005, and Devizes contemporary rockers Hitchmo who visit on the eve of the release of their new EP. Hitchmo played a song exclusively live in the studio.

Also UNDERGROUND roving reporter Will Walder provided two gig reports this week and the first cames from Bath Moles Club's Battle of the Bands final which took place on Monday 12th December. Will was there to see local bands Halagoogoo, Old School Tie and Kick Tin compete for the top spot. He also reported from promoters Sheer Music's gig in Devizes on Friday 16th December. Playing on the night were local acts Doubtful Guest, Spencer and Caldera. Sheer organisers Kieran and Thom (who recently guested on UNDERGROUND in the Movers and Shakers slot) have claimed the music scene in the town is enjoying something of a renaissance at the moment and Will went along to find out for himself. And in the 'The Buzz with Buswell' slot, local musician and Wiltshire music scene man-in-the-know Shaun Buswell gave his usual rundown of all the best gigs taking place around the county over the last week before Christmas. On the UNDERGROUND playlist this week were: Home from Home – 'Idle Eyes' Summerteeth - 'Slow me Down' Charlie Bath – 'This is My Goodbye' Not nOrmal - 'Whispered Moan' Ultimate Trigger Mechanism - 'Two:16' Nishe – 'Trapped in Comfort' Hitchmo – 'Nerds' Aaapha - 'Jingle Balls'
