The third series of UNDERGROUND - ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Swindon and ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Wiltshire's weekly radio show dedicated to local bands and musicians continued on Sunday 6th August.

This week's guests, Dayshift

This week, presenter Daniel Garrett played host to space rockers Dayshift whose members come from Salisbury and Marlborough. Nick Beere and Jason Tilbrook from the band sat down for a chat with Daniel who also played two of their tracks on the show.

UNDERGROUND roving reporter Will Walder took a week off, so in his place this time round - newcomer Marie Lennon had been out and about on the Wiltshire music scene. Recently she followed new Swindon band Liddington to only their second ever gig at Riffs Bar in Greatfield.

She'll found out what it's like for a newly-formed band starting out, and also spoke to Riffs Bar owners Andy and Tiggy Pett about the local scene.

Also in the weekly local music scene 'Movers and Shakers' slot, Daniel chatted to Swindon celeb Gina Akers who appeared on Channel 4's The Salon.

She was joined by Lee Knott and they talked up the series of special live music events known simply as 'The Gig' that they are currently organising and promoting in and around Swindon.

And as ever in the 'The Buzz with Buswell' slot, local musician and Wiltshire music scene man-in-the-know Shaun Buswell iwas on hand with his weekly rundown of all the best gigs taking place around the county over the coming week.

On the UNDERGROUND playlist this week were:

Patchway Theft – 'Day Dreaming'
Headbound - 'Visions'
Belarus – 'Dream'
Before I Wake - 'Nothing has Changed'
The Phoebus Mass - 'I Called to Say You're Right'
The Knott - 'Politics for Lunch'

I thought you would like to let everyone know that Gabby Young had major surgery for thryoid cancer yesterday. She has come out of the operation very well, and is thrilled that her voice seems to be absolutely ok. Please could you thank all her local friends for their good wishes, and let them know that she hopes to be up and about and SINGING! soon. Many thanks. Judy
