The third series of UNDERGROUND - 大象传媒 Radio Swindon and 大象传媒 Radio Wiltshire's weekly radio show dedicated to local bands and musicians came to an end with the sixth and final show in the current run on Sunday 10th September. The show features the latest band demos, a guide to the best gigs taking place around the area, band interviews, exclusive live sessions, gig reports, and interviews with Wiltshire music scene movers and shakers.

This week, presenter Daniel Garrett invited Geoff and Russ from young Salisbury rock act Mitchell Devastation into the studio. Among other things they discussed was the fact they once went by the name of Dirty Pretty Things before Carl Barat's band of the same name came along and threatened legal action, and Russ told of his TV debut on Stars in thier eyes when he went on as Robbie Williams! The band also exclusively record a song 听'Devil Inside You' live for this final show in the series. UNDERGROUND roving reporter Will Walder was extra busy this week and provided two local music scene reports for the final show. His first focused on the Salisbury music scene and the bands that are currently making waves down there in South Wiltshire.

And in his second report he looked at recently-formed Swindon band Hanza. Although Hanza is a new project, the individual band members have been on the Swindon scene for years. Singer/guitarist Graham Mattingley's previous band Cinnamon Smith were once signed to Island Records and drummer Lee Moulding is the son of XTC bass-player Colin Moulding. The local music scene Mover and Shaker this week was Dave Young, landlord of the Victoria music venue in Swindon. He was on to talk about his brand new venture - 12 Bar, formerly The Ship pub in the town which he hopes will become one of the top gig venues in the West attracting听 well-known national acts. And Shaun Buswell returned for one last 'The Buzz with Buswell' - his weekly run-down of all the best gigs talking place in and around Wiltshire over the next seven days. On the UNDERGROUND playlist this week were: The Operation - 'Satisfied Tonight' The Forgiving - 'Persona Persona' Rob Sharples - 'So the Story Goes' Beat Creep - 'Rainbow Shadows' Electric City Heights - 'Rusevelt' Becky Gibbons - 'Tuesday Bluesday' The Perfect Excuse - 'Recovery Process'
