Nuclear weapons ARE of course stored in underground bunkers, it's not as if they're going to be left around outside. If this was used for storing nuclear weapons, which i doubt considering it has living quarters, kitchen etc, then there would be slightly higher background radiation but nowhere near dangerous levels.

My Father in Law actually worked on security in this place but never spoke about it or where it was situated. He was an ex 39/45 army major and at the time lived on the Rudloe Estate near Corsham

Residue? People go IN the bunker, nuclear weapons go OUTSIDE. Unless you mean from the last nuclear attack on Britain, which was...never.

Who was to use this place? Not the general public I'm sure.

this should be used and the money given back to the pentioners who went without for us. we must look after our old. This should be preserved.dont keep building big monstosities that end up empty. use the ones we have.
