Very interesting. My ancestor Richard Few came to the U.W. from Market Lavington in the mid-1600s so this is family history for me.

I would like to contact Megan as I was not only at Topsham Barracks, Devizes. Wiltshire Regiment 1953 - 55 and I now learn that that my Grandfather in the Cheshire Yeomanry, who joined in 1908 was at Pond Farm May 20th 1909 at Annual Camp. The Daily Sketch devoted a whole page plus photo's reporting on this camp.(May 20th) Would love a copy of your photo. dcbland@btinternet.co.uk

Hi I have a photo marked "Church Parade Pond Farm Camp" - no date. I also have some other photos of men outside a tent and a horse-drawn ambulance. These photos pre-date WWI. I was trying to find out about why my grandfather is pictured outside the tent. He migrated to Australia shortly after that. Will continue to search for history of Pond Farm Camp. Megan in Australia

I have lived in Market Lavington all my life. It鈥檚 great to see these pictures; it鈥檚 like looking at ghosts. How times have changed, yet the village still looks the same. I wonder how the people in the pictures would feel if they could have looked at us in 2008 as we're looking at them in 1908? Thank you.

Isn't it funny how in those days if a car passed through it would be a facinating sight but now it is a normal sight... BUT the road is not really suited for cars. especlly during rush hour (after school)
