Bath Road.....if you go off to the right down the road you would come to Clifton Street on the right.....where I use to live....long ago!

My father Arthur Maggs was born in 15 Westcott Place, Swindon in July, 1919.On a UK holiday in 2008 we managed to find the old terrace house and take a few nostalic photos to bring back home for the family.Unfortunately my father died in 1981.He migrated to Sydney, Australia with his mother in 1931.He returned for 3 weeks on a holiday in 1973.

Ah, pic number 39. It feels odd to see the postbox just a few doors up from my old house all these years later. I've moved to the US now and find this site very nostalgic even though all the pics are well before my time.

I lived at The Belle Vue Hotel (now Longs Bar) during the late 1960's early 1970's and was more than likely living there when this photo was taken , wonderful to see it all again , as it was then . sob.

Its wonderful to see how the town used to look and see how much things have changed. I hope that something can be done to preserve buildings like the Mechanics Institute.
