Discharged from the army in 1897, Benjamin James Marfleet was recorded as a Clerk at the GWR Works in both the 1901 (residence: 2 Morrison Street) and the 1911 (residence: 57 Deacon Street) census returns. He died in 1918 aged 54 years.
