Loved the mela AGAIN this year, I just want to say that it would'nt be possible for i too happen without the co-operation of everyone and the mela executive team who worked really hard! Can't wait til next year!

very good lots of things to do and plenty to eat but long queues for food. great live music and good stage shows. Martial art was too long but dances were very good

I watched a food demonstration by Melba Sheffield at the Mela on Saturday, after purchasing some goods from her stall I had a go at making Pilau rice at home and.... It worked tasted great and went down a storm with the family. The Mela is a fantasic event for all ageswell done to all involved.

Fantastic event, thanks to every who helped organise and participated in the day. it was my first time and enjoyed it thoroughly.. it was great to just sample a little bit of Asian art and culture.. thought it was very busy so im all for a weekend event next year..

Hey Melba...Went thro all those 65photographs...sad that it was not on a slide...Very Colourful and must have been the most talked about EVENT of the century...I didnt see any of your Girls...nor Hubert performing anywhere...Keep up the good work get everyone involved, its very good for One's SOUL...Have been there in 1996...is it??? My first trip to Swindon when your Dad was living...lots of beautiful memories...n jason was only 5 year old then...Love...Joe.

Thank you to the Mela organisers for a really great day out. I think the Town Gardens is an ideal location for this sort of event and contributes to the whole atmosphere. The only problem is the lack of parking.

Not so busy you say? Compared to last year of around 17,000 we had at least 19,000 to 20,000!!! We know we ran out of food!

It was my first time booking a stall at the Health Zone - I would like to thank Mina for giving me the opportunity to participate on the day and for Jack in looking after all the therapists. You have all worked very hard to bring such colour and diversity to Swindon and I along with other therapists, I am sure, wish you all the best with future Mela's.

My first visit to the Mela...it was really lovely! I enjoyed the day with my family. The negative for us was to see the food stall handling money with gloves AND picking up food. Why didn't someone collect the money ONLY, and food was picked up with gloves, that were changed frequently. Needless to say, we didn't buy any food, even though we were so hungry.Please take this comment on board.

This was the second Swindon Mela I have been to and it seems to be getting better every year. Highlights for me included the Punjabi dancers and the Sikh Martial Arts team who were, in a word, fantastic.I personally hope that it becomes a two day festival.

I have been seeing the Mela for the last 3-4 years. It is improving year after year. You get to see a sample of the whole fabric of different Asian culture in a day. We can expect much more variety next year also.
