Wow, could they convert it into a hotel / centre parks then if there was a war and you were there at the time you also get an extended holiday until the dust settles.

I understand Olga Lehman and my dad Gilbert Wood painted murals for this and other underground sites. Any chance of showing some?

Quite simply, 'WOW'. Amazing images in this gallery. I have a special personal interest in the subject and I'm just blown away by what I'm seeing ... I doubt I'll ever be lucky enough to pay Burlington a visit, but I'm so glad Auntie has published these awesome pics. Thanks!

Remember, the site still had a skeleton crew of 4 until it was decommissioned, the fire extinguishers would still have to be renewed regularly.

The site comes under the mines regs, it is not for sale.
Chris Harwood
The site does need to comply with current health and safety regulation especially if potential buyers are being shown around.

Never mind the age of the masks, the fire extinguishers appear to be CO2 and are in the comparitievly new colour red (as opposed to the older black colour for CO2) - just a minor observation
