Itsoseng is the only non-competition play in this year's season. It's a dark political love story written and performed by the talented playwright & actor Omphile Molusi from South Africa.

Omphile Molusi

The title takes its name from the township where Omphile grew up in the north of the country in what used to be the homeland of Bophutatswana. It tells the tale of Mawilla and Dolly whose love suffers and ultimately perishes due to the hardship of life in Itsoseng.

This is a monologue that expresses the frustrations of a township where the new South Africa has failed to bring new life.

Directed by Jenny Horrocks
