The Cameroon parliament has passed a law reorganising the country's national election commission, known as Election Cameroon or ELECAM.

The move has upset the opposition and civil society groups which say the new law clears the way for the ruling C.P.D.M party to win the presidential elections due next year.

Randy Joe Sa'ah has been monitoring events in Yaoundé and sent this report.
