Forum 1: Ancient Egypt and the Nile Valley

Who were the Ancient Egyptians? Were they black Africans? Why should their origins matter so much? Is the history of Egypt being used by some African American to improve their self-esteem?

Reclaiming Egypt for Africa is an indirect way of saying that the rest of black Africa does not have its own civilisation. It is a case of playing into the hands of white historians and academics. It shows a lack of self-confidence. Black Africa has its own and unique sets of civilisations that expressed itself not in monument building but in oral traditions and through other virtues. Have a look at the astrological advances of the Boran-Oromo people of the Horn of Africa in East Africa for instance.
Liban Digalu, Horn of Africa.

Africa is the land of the Blacks, as is Australia, Borneo, Fiji, Arabia, etc. All you need do is go back far enough. We Black people do not need to argue with anyone on this matter, and African Americans do no need anything to bolster their self esteem. In case you hadn't noticed, we are not emigrating anywhere.

The ancient Egyptians were black Africans. The Phoenicians (today's light-skinned Egyptians) are originally descendants of Lebanese traders from the Mesopotamia area. They began settling in Egypt through trade with Africans. Africans by nature are hospitable people, who are always welcoming visitors.

By the time black Africans found out that the Phoenicians were no longer visitors, but an occupation group, it was too late. They were subject to systematic extermination with all the best parts, including women, cultures, land, treasures, the pyramids, royal thrones and public system, taken over and adopted by the Phoenicians.

I am very interested in ancient Egyptian civilization - whether or not it belongs to African civilization. I am wondering if any DNA test has been done on ancient remains of Egyptians? If yes, what linkage is there between ancient Egyptians and the rest of neighborhood?

No-one has disproved Cheik Ante Diop's discoveries about the link between Egypt and Africa, yet people with no credible proof are always given air time to state "Egypt is not African".
