´óÏó´«Ã½ World Service

Measuring our performance

Target: To deliver a high-quality multimedia news service in Persian for Iran and Afghanistan, including an eight-hour television service.

• ´óÏó´«Ã½ World Service television in Persian to reach at least three million weekly viewers, as part of an overall ´óÏó´«Ã½ multimedia reach in Persian of over 10 million weekly users.

Data from national surveys will not be available until after the elections in Iran in June. Results from a limited survey carried out in Tehran shortly after launch indicated that ´óÏó´«Ã½ Persian TV had a weekly audience of 4.5% of adults and there was a higher level of awareness for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Persian television than for Voice of America (VOA) television.

• ´óÏó´«Ã½ World Service television in Persian to have the highest reputational indicators of any international TV channel in the region; measured in Iran (and Afghanistan when possible).

In the Tehran study reputation questions were asked but the bases (´óÏó´«Ã½, VOA viewers) were too small for reliable analysis.
