Taliban growing in strength
A map compiled by the 大象传媒's Urdu language service shows that only 38% of Pakistan's Northwest Frontier Province and adjoining areas is under full government control.
This illustrates the growing strength of Taliban militants, who in some areas like the Swat Valley have in effect usurped the state.
Pakistan's army is currently engaged in a military offensive aimed at regaining Swat.

The Taliban's strongest presence is in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, or FATA, and the North-West Frontier Province.
So what does it mean to the people living in these areas when we say that the government has no control?
