Life is slowly beginning to return to normal in the Swat valley in Pakistan.
Adnan Rashid spoke to Outlook about his escape from Mingora, and made an audio diary of his return journey back there.
We join him once again, as he accompanies his little sister and niece on their first day back to school after three months away.
They're both excited about seeing all their friends again.
It's the first day back at school in Mingora, Swat valley. Many of the children have been away for three months after the fighting which took place in the region.
The girls are all excited to be returning to school.
Adnan's younger sister went to look for her school bag as soon as she got back from her long journey home to Swat.
Some of the children still use the school bus but many feel it is safe enough to walk.
Not all the children were back at lessons, so the girls played badminton for part of the day.
All the children are happy to see their friends again.
