Brian Barron, one of the 大象传媒's most respected foreign correspondents died this week aged 69.

Brian started his career at the 大象传媒 World Service and went on to report for both radio and television from many global trouble spots.

He covered the Falklands War from Chile, reported on both the first and second Gulf Wars and was in Africa for the fall of Idi Amin and the end of the war in Rhodesia.

Brian was also the 大象传媒's man in many of the world's great cities including Cairo, Hong Kong, Washington and Rome.

One of his most memorable assignments covering the fall of Saigon at the end of the Vietnam War.

The cameraman who was with him in Vietnam, and through many other key assignments, was Eric Thirer.

Eric chatted to Matthew Bannister about being there at historical moments and his working relationship and friendship with Brian.
