89 Voices - Bucharest

The Romanian Revolution of 1989 was a week-long series of increasingly violent riots which took place in late December. Eventually the government of Nicolae Ceausescu was overthrown.

Cristina Pasat is a student living in Bucharest. She was born in 1989.

For Outlook, she went to visit the notorious Jilava Prison, a relic of the Communist era.
