Life - and Death - Through a Lens
"If you look long enough down the throat of a lion he will eat you."
Those were words of a photojournalist on the death of his colleague, photojournalist and documentary maker Christian Poveda.
Poveda was shot dead after making a documentary about violent young 鈥渕ara" gang members in El Salvador.
And the person who shot him is believed to be one of his subjects - a Salvadorean gang member.
Poveda specialised in difficult and dangerous assignments others would not touch. Sadly he paid with his life.
The 大象传媒's Nick Fraser has worked before with Christian Poveda. He spoke to Outlook鈥檚 Valerie Sanderson and described the life and work of his friend.
Poveda鈥檚 film on teenage gangs in the country - La Vida Loca - is being released in cinemas in France.
