After months of silence and oppression, music can again be heard in the homes and streets of Pakistan's Swat Valley.
Until the army launched offensive earlier this year, all forms of artistic expression had been suppressed in the region.
Now - while other areas of Pakistan face a continuing security threat - Swat life is gradually edging back to normal.
All across the valley, many singers, musicians and performers are cautiously coming back to public life.
Since the beginning of the crisis, Outlook has kept up to date through a local journalist who lives in Swat's main city of Mingora.
Adnan Rashid spoke to Outlook and gave us his report about the re-emergence of cultural life in the valley.
