Haitian Quake Talk Radio

In Washington DC, a radio programme has become the focus for Haitians living in America who are desperate for news of relatives in the aftermath of the earthquake and struggling to cope with their own grief.

For 26 years Yves Dayiti has been presenting a Haitian radio show called Konbit Lakay.

"This is the first time I have seen the Haitian community in the States really coming together. Everyone wants to know what they can do to help"

By day, Yves is an engineer working for Maryland's Transport Department, but every Saturday night he takes to the airwaves for two hours with a mixture of music and news from Haiti.

Since the earthquake his show has taken on a new role, offering emotional support to Haitians living in the United States, and a outlet for their grief.

For Outlook, Jane O'Brien sat in on one of his shows to find out more.
