Four years ago, life in a small village in North West Cameroon changed dramatically when the second wife of a local farmer gave birth to conjoined twins.

The twins became headline news, and after an internet appeal for help, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia offered to pay for their care.

They were separated when they were just over one year old, in a series of operations which took 16 hours.

The two girls, Precious and Blessing, are due to return to Saudi Arabia soon for more treatment to fit them with artificial limbs, since they both have only one leg.

For Outlook, the 大象传媒's Francis Ngwa Niba went to visit the remote village where the girls live, and also spoke to Professor Pius Tih, who helped with the early care of the twins.
