At first, it may not seem unusual that photography student Briony Campbell decided to point her lens at her father for a series of personal portraits.
However her father, David Campbell - a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist - agreed to be photographed in the last six months of his life as he was dying from bile duct cancer.
In the photo series, which she called The Dad Project, Briony unflinchingly photographed his physical deterioration, his surroundings, his treatment, and her own reaction in pictures - pictures which are sometimes bleak, sometimes uplifting, and often deeply moving.
When Briony recently came into the Outlook studio, she spoke to Matthew Bannister, who began by asking her what first made her decide to take these intimate shots.
Briony Campbell's photos are at in London until 6 June 2010
