Children film their lives in Iraq
When Saddam Hussein launched genocidal gas attacks on Iraq's Kurdish population in 1988, the village of Goptapa lost many of its people.
The memory of that attack - the Anfal, as it was called - hangs over the place and has been passed onto the children.
A filmmaker from Northern Ireland, Mark Cousins, wanted to see how it had affected the youngsters' imagination and gave them cameras to shoot their own videos.
The resulting films gave moving insights into the children's lives, which Mark has included in a documentary film about his experiences called The First Movie.
Mark Cousins spoke to Outlook's Jo Fidgen and told her what drew him to the children of Goptapa.
