What do the clothes people wear say about a society?
Do high heels and mini-skirts, drainpipes or flares signify anything about the politics of a country?
A new book, Fashion East: The Spectre That Haunted Socialism, focuses on the fashion of the old Eastern Bloc; and how following it was sometimes an act of sedition in itself.
Its author is Dr Djurdja Bartlett of the London College of Fashion.
