From Belfast to Beirut

Brian Keenan

Brian Keenan

When Brian Keenan was held hostage in Beirut in the 1980s, Outlook and the World Service were his only link with the outside world.

Brian wrote about his 1,574 days in the captivity of Islamic Jihad in the best selling book An Evil Cradling.

Now he’s published a new book. I'll Tell Me Ma is a memoir of his childhood in 1950’s Northern Ireland and gives an insight into the forces that shaped his life.

Brian met Matthew Bannister and described the Belfast he knew as a child.
