Kitintale Skatepark in Kampala

Uganda isn't the easiest place to be a skateboarder. Skateboarding equipment isn't widely available in the country and the roads are often pot-holed and lack pavements on which to skate.

But the sport has really taken off in Kampala, the country's capital, which now has its first purpose built skateboarding park.

There, a growing number of boys and girls are perfecting their skateboarding tricks.

The skatepark was the brainchild of 27 year old Ugandan Jackson Mubiru who was inspired to start skateboarding after watching a film on television.

Outlook's Joshua Mmali went to meet Jackson and to watch the skaters in action.
