Four years ago Outlook heard the story of disabled Zimbabwean singer Prudence Mabhena. 23-year-old Prudence was born with arthrogryposis, which leaves her unable to use her arms and legs.
Earlier this year a documentary film about her, Music by Prudence, won an Oscar. Prudence travelled to Hollywood for the ceremony.
The film gets its TV debut on US TV network HBO next month.
Prudence is the singer in a band called Liyana (pictured below) and all nine members are disabled. They performed at the Harare International Festival of the Arts this week.
For Outlook, Steve Vickers met up with her there.
And, as a bonus...
Here is Steve Vickers' original interview with Prudence from December 2006.
