Liv Boeree has just become the third woman ever to win the European Poker Tournament.

As a child, like many girls brought up in the English countryside, Liv Boeree loved riding ponies.

However, she switched her attention to more unusual pursuits - studying astrophysics at university and developing a new passion and talent for poker.

The 25-year-old - who has also worked as a model - beat more than 1200 contestants and scooped nearly $2 million in the recent poker tournament.

Liv came into the Outlook studio and told Lucy Ash how she stumbled upon the world of poker when she answered a call for contestants on a reality TV programme.
