For generations the indigenous peoples of Taiwan have been forced to abandon their cultures and traditions. This persecution also meant they were forbidden to speak their own languages.

For Outlook, Cindy Sui travelled to a mountain village with a group of schoolchildren from the city to see how these languages and traditions are being taught.
