33-year-old Palestinian Murad Abu Khalaf says he has been left stateless after Israeli authorities revoked his right to live in East Jerusalem.
After many years studying and working in the USA, Murad was told he no longer had a right to live in his home city because it was not now his 'centre of life'.
He says he always saw his long term future back in East Jerusalem.
Murad claims he is now effectively barred from returning home because Israeli law says that Palestinians from East Jerusalem who choose to spend more than seven years abroad risk having their residency revoked.
Murad spoke to Matthew Bannister from Boston, USA.
