Daniel Ruiz Diaz has recently celebrated an unusual anniversary - on 18 November this year he marked 20 years since being diagnosed with HIV.
His was one of the very first cases in Bolivia, and he has survived longer than anyone else there.
Daniel puts it down to living heathily and taking medication.
Originally from Argentina, he now works as an AIDS activist in Bolivia.
Outlook reporter Mattia Cabitza went to meet Daniel in the city of Cochabamba, and asked him about the discrimination still faced by people living with HIV and AIDS.
