Enrico Monfrini has been called 'the man who dictators fear the most'.
The 54-year-old Swiss lawyer is known for his skill and success in tracking down the billions of dollars hidden away by corrupt leaders.
He is currently involved in an investigation into the finances of 'Baby Doc' Duvalier, the former Haitian leader who has been charged with corruption and embezzlement during his rule in the 1970s and 80s.
But Mr Monfrini is also keeping a keen eye on current events in the Middle East, in case he is called upon to track down money taken by recently deposed heads of state.
In his most celebrated case, he helped to restore more than $1bn which had been taken from Nigeria by the country's former leader General Sani Abacha in the 1990s.
Outlook's Matthew Bannister spoke to Enrico Monfrini about his extraordinary experiences as the teenage son of a Swiss diplomat in Gabon, his reluctance to become a lawyer in the first place and what it takes to do the job he now loves.
