Messy Writers is a monthly meet-up in London for screenwriters. Running since November 2022, the group has become a fun, regular space for writers at all stages to get out from behind their laptops and celebrate or commiserate about the industry, share opportunities and meet potential collaborators.
Messy Writers is run by the Messy Women writers collective, led by writers Sorcha Kurien-Walsh, Jessica Riches and Isobel Bruce. They run high-low brow new writing showcases exploring the depiction of women in history, media and culture, covering everyone from Britney Spears to Marie Antoinette.
Their friendly, casual and occasionally 'messy' drinks take place on the first Tuesday of every month at various venues around central London, and are completely free to attend. Follow their for event details.
Messy Writers is an inclusive event, and their mantra is 'friends and lovers welcome'. If you have any accessibility requirements or questions, or are simply nervous about showing up alone for the first time, then you're warmly encouraged to message on or email: messymesswomen@gmail.com and one of the organisers will do what they can to make you feel secure and welcome.
Over 18鈥檚 only.
