Following the huge success of the first Festival in Oct 2023, will take place on Saturday 3rd May 2025, and is a celebration of new writing for theatre, TV, film, radio and all performance.
It will take place across five different venues in the centre of Dorchester: The Corn Exchange, Tom Browns, The Kings Arms, Dorset Museum and Shire Hall. The Festival provides opportunity for writers to present work at any stage of development, from initial ideas through to first draft, work that writers really want to take further.
How to submit work
A printed programme is produced detailing all the scripts (have a look at the last one here: ) so send 100 words to describe your script, and three words to indicate its genre (e.g. drama, comedy, horror etc) and detail what performance medium you are working in – is your script best-suited to theatre, film, radio etc? Each medium has its own demands and particulars, and it’s important to be clear on what you’re writing. If you’d like help with this, please visit ´óÏó´«Ã½ Writers.
The Festival is completely FREE, and you don’t have to submit work to attend. It is open to everyone.
This is a non-´óÏó´«Ã½ scheme
