Canadian legend recovers for Barcelona show afterÌýcollapsing on stage

21ÌýSeptemberÌý2009Ìý-ÌýLeonard Cohen is due to make his live return this evening afterÌýfainting onstage on Friday 18 SeptemberÌýin Spain.

The iconic singer-songwriter was taken ill while performing the fourth song of his concert in Valencia.

Witnesses say he first lost his balance while picking up a guitar, and then fainted - falling to the floor of the stage.Ìý

A band member told the crowd Leonard Cohen had suffered stomach cramps and vomiting fits.Ìý The remainder of the concert was cancelled.

Cohen was hospitalised, but has since been released, with food poisoning being blamed for the incident.Ìý

The Canadian singer-songwriterÌýis now confirmed to perform in Barcelona tonight, which is the final date of the Spanish tour andÌýalso his 75th birthday.
