´óÏó´«Ã½ Northern Ireland Commissioning Brief Autumn 2019

With plans for a more substantive round in the New Year, this ‘top-up commissioning round’ is designed to fill slots currently available in the 2020 calendar year. While there are some limited, immediate opportunities, we always continue to look further ahead and plan for the development of ideas that can deliver further along the horizon.

´óÏó´«Ã½ Three - Youth content development scheme

´óÏó´«Ã½ Three is a digital channel that reflects a diverse range of young voices across the UK - on and off screen. This year, we are partnering with Northern Ireland Screen and ´óÏó´«Ã½ Northern Ireland to champion local companies who want to develop creative and innovative formats that can entertain the whole of the UK. This partnership is focused on enhancing the quality and volume of production supply and developing a talent pipeline from Northern Ireland to ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three.

Our Lives - Series 4

Our Lives, the early peak single doc strand from the Nations, returns next summer for a run of 30’ documentaries that aim to reflect the rich diversity of life across the UK Nations and Regions. Reflecting life and community back at itself, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Northern Ireland has delivered some of the most popular and diverse films into this mix, often reaching audiences in excess of 2 million viewers.

Films like The World’s Oldest Family celebrating rural family survival in large numbers; Role Model and Kate Grant’s ambition to start a modelling career despite her personal challenges; and The Last Showmen depicting the tough lives of the touring family funfair - these are all great examples of how this strand delivers story, insight and the diversity of the wider UK.

We have an opportunity to commission three new films for next year and we are keen to receive proposals that meet the brief.

´óÏó´«Ã½ Gaeilge Summer 2019 Commissioning Brief

´óÏó´«Ã½ Gaeilge Commissioning round is open for business! Opportunities for producers to pitch ideas for 60’ documentary and 30’ series.

Deadline: Friday, 6th September 2019.

´óÏó´«Ã½ NI Commissioning Brief March 2019

In this commissioning period we have an opportunity to add some further programmes for transmission in the financial year 2019/20, as well as look ahead to the content that can take longer to produce for 2020/21. We are also using this round as way of completing the schedule for the forthcoming year 2019/20, by commissioning projects that can deliver and tx before March 2020. We have had an abundance of really strong True North films and Ob Docs series, but fewer Fact-Ent, lighter content and Landmark films that aren’t necessarily historically based.

All ideas and proposals should be submitted via  by Thursday 2nd May 2019 at 5pm.

If you require any guidance or advice prior to submission, contact Linda McCarter.
