Lord Sugar
After leaving school aged 16, Lord Sugar’s first business venture was selling electrical goods out of a van he bought for £50. In 1968, he founded Amstrad and now has an estimated worth of £730 million. He was ranked 85th in the 2010 Sunday Times Rich List.
A former Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur FC, Lord Sugar sold his Amstrad empire to Sky in July 2007. His other companies include Amscreen, which offers digital screen media advertising networks, and Amsair, which supplies business and executive jets to a number of high profile clients. In 2011 it was announced that he is to take over the role of non-executive chairman for YouView - Freeview’s Video On Demand service.
In 2000, Lord Sugar received a knighthood for his services to business. Having previously sat on the Business Council for Britain and fronted a campaign promoting apprenticeships, he was named as Enterprise Champion in 2009 and appointed to the House of Lords as Baron Sugar of Clapton in the London Borough of Hackney.
Lord Sugar is a philanthropist who donates to a number of charities including Great Ormond Street Hospital and Jewish Care.
Karren Brady
Karren first appeared as one of Lord Sugar’s aides during the first series of The Junior Apprentice, when she replaced Margaret Mountford as his right-hand woman. She is now a permanent fixture in the boardroom and will not take profit loss or excuses for bad business practice lightly.
She began her career aged 18 with LBC Radio before moving onto Saatchi & Saatchi as a Junior Account Handler. Karren is widely known for her role as ‘the first woman of football’ and as the Managing Director of Birmingham City Football Club from 1993 to 2009, turning the club’s fortunes around. In January 2010, she was appointed Vice Chairman of West Ham United FC.
On top of being a successful author of four books and a columnist for The Sun newspaper, Karren is also the director of Taveta Investments and has been on the board of several organizations and charities, including Scope, Birmingham Women’s Aid and Channel 4 Television. In 2010 she was named ‘one of the ten most powerful women in the UK’ by Marie Claire magazine.

Nick Hewer
Former PR impresario Nick Hewer began his career in the mid 1960s. Heading up his own company until its sale in 1997, Nick built an impressive client list featuring many British and international organizations.
Nick first met Lord Sugar in 1983 when his PR firm was chosen to represent Amstrad. He was soon taking care of the tycoon’s profile across all business and personal dealings and went on to become a trusted ally and friend.
Nick's career has taken him all over the world and in his retirement he still pursues his lifelong passion for travel. He has often combined this with his benevolence, once driving a 20 year-old Renault 4L solo from London to Mongolia for charity and taking part in a Children in Need trek from Istanbul to Almaty in Kazakhstan.
Nick’s much loved dry wit and legendary facial expressions have taken him through six series of The Apprentice and have also seen him appear on comedy panel shows such as Would I Lie To You?
As a patron of Hope and Homes for Children, Nick helps promote this British charity and has worked for them in Romania and Rwanda. He also has a home in France where he indulges his other passion - vintage tractors.
