Watch: What are lifecycles?
A lifecycle is the different stages of life for all living things, including humans.
Stages in a lifecycle
There are normally four major events in the lifecycle of animals:
birth - growth - reproduction - death
These events happen at different stages. Here's an example of a cat's lifecycle:
Watch: The beginning of a bird's lifecycle
Watch: Lifecycle of a butterfly
All animals have a lifecycle, including invertebrates. This is the lifecycle of a butterfly.
A frog's lifecycle
Most amphibians go through metamorphosis during their lifetime. Here's an example of a frog's lifecycle.
