Our amazing celebrities and influencers ARE BACK; magician and YouTuber Dan Rhodes, presenter and influencer Zara McDermott, comedian Russell Kane, body positive influencer Miah Carter, musician Wes Nelson and disability rights activist and TikToker India Sasha answer questions from Nova, the voice of the Confession Pod.

The theory of unconscious bias is the association we hold, outside our conscious awareness and control. It affects everyone. Unconscious bias is triggered by our brain automatically making quick judgments and assessments. They are influenced by our background, personal experiences, societal stereotypes and cultural context.

In this Confession Pod, our celebs talk about personality traits of footballers, what you鈥檇 expect a reality TV star to be like and MORE! They try and understand the theory, give examples of it that they鈥檝e seen and work out if they have their own unconscious bias. They talk openly and honestly if their OWN unconscious bias of others have impacted how they have read news articles (and the people it involves).

Often, a one-sided news story can influence your own unconscious bias. One-sided reporting, where you don鈥檛 see the other side of the story, is common in clickbait articles online and in the Tabloid press. The 大象传媒, ITV, Channel 4 and some newspapers have really strict rules and processes for making sure they balance their reporting, so they don鈥檛 show a bias that their readers and viewers might have. Their social media channels will all be verified, usually with a blue tick so you know your news will be well researched and accurate.

If you鈥檙e sharing news that you鈥檝e read on the socials, take a bit of time to work our if the news is balanced, or you鈥檙e sharing it due to your unconscious bias.

If you want to see how our celebrities got on answering questions about celebrities (using or, at times, ignoring their unconscious bias) then watch them take on the Confession Pod Unconscious Bias Test here!
