India is an found in southern Asia. It is the world's largest , and one of the world's fastest growing economies. Estimates suggest that India will become the second largest economy by 2050. India is an example of a country that has become richer.

The population of India in 2022 was approximately 1.4 billion people, and a recent report predicts that India will overtake China as the most populous country in 2026. India has around 50 millionaire cities (with a population of over a million people), and is home to five of the world's (over 10 million people) - Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru.

However, despite its rapid growth, poverty in India is widespread. The places India 131st out of 189 countries, with around 10% of the nation's population still living on less than $1.90 (US dollar) a day.
