The Elizabethans - exam preparation - AQAWrite an account of the…? (8 marks)

In your History GCSE, it is important that you not only have good subject knowledge, but have the skills to apply this knowledge to exam questions.

Part of HistoryElizabeth I

Write an account of the…? (8 marks)

This type of question is focussing on one of the key concepts of cause and consequence, or change and continuity.

Example:

Write an account of the importance of Elizabeth’s defence of the English religious settlement.

Tips:

With this type of question you have to be very careful not to simply tell the story of the religious settlement in the order they happened. Instead you should focus on the causes within your account.

You should write an account that has a structure that is logically sequenced and connected, and includes a range of relevant knowledge. If you are able to, try to extend the complexity of your reasoning to show more detailed relevant knowledge.
