Tips:
To answer this example question you should write about the tactics used by the US army, such as:
Operation Rolling Thunder.
Search and Destroy.
Agent Orange/Napalm.
You would then need to briefly state how these tactics were intended to deal with the Vietcong. You could also refer to reasons why they failed to work, but keep remembering that a five mark question will not require lots of explanation, so save your time for the longer answer questions!
