Painting with ink
Ink can be used with a pen to create drawings, but it can also be used in a similar way to watercolour. Inks can be used together with watercolours or on their own.
Ink gives a rich, glossy result when used on its own. When mixed with water it becomes Allows light to pass through but is not completely clear. and creates subtle variation of tone and colour.

Tools and materials
Cheap brushes are best for ink because it can be difficult to clean the ink out afterwards. A pipette can be used to drop small amounts of ink onto the surface.

Thick paper or cardstock is best for painting with ink, as it can wrinkle or tear thin paper.
